JOB SUMMARY: Provide supervision to designated NEMSA sites. Responsible for staffing pipelines of initial education training of EMTs, Paramedics and ECAs. Manage NEMSA instructors in providing successful results in training and recruiting. Accountable for all designated site-specific activities and directives from the Manager and Director of NEMSA. 

REPORTS TO: EMS Program Manager

EQUIPMENT: Computer, printer, copier, fax, phone, audiovisual equipment. Prehospital medical equipment as specified by the state EMS authority.

  1. Supervise all activities of Instructors at designated NEMSA sites

  2. Provide site specific reports as directed to EMS Program Manager or Director

  3. Accountable for all designated site- specific issues

  4. Provide backup education instruction as needed or manage adjunct coverage when applicable

  5. Accountable for staffing projections along with successful implantation of plans resulting in positive growth in all EMS training programs

  6. Ensure proper NEMSA procedures and processes are being followed at designated NEMSA sites and complete periodic audit reports to EMS Program Manager.

  7. Function as a resource for mentorship in the different courses offered within the EMR, ECA, EMT, and Paramedic curriculums

  8. Provide guidance and professional development opportunities for instructors at designated sites

  9. Provide summary designated site reports as needed 

  10. Audit student files for each EMR, ECA, EMT, and Paramedic student and each respective course

  11. Maintain all credentials required by the job

  12. Oversee course completion paperwork for each paramedic student

  13. Complete performance appraisals and career conversations for NEMSA Instructors reporting to Regional Coordinator

  14. Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Academy

  15. Have an overall view of staffing needs for areas served along with maintaining and productive NEMSA location

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred

  2. Instructor certification by state EMS authority or obtained within the first 6 months

  3. Instructor certification in BLS or obtained within the first 6 months

  4. Typing skills, basic Microsoft Office/Google suite program skills

  5. Understanding of staffing trends within designated areas
