About the Role
Are you ready to apply your geotechnical expertise to deliver innovative solutions in a tailings dam environment? We're looking for a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to create, build, and lead within a high-performing, interdependent unit of the Residue Operations team in the alumina industry.
In this critical role, you will:
Support the delivery of civil construction projects with geotechnical insight and precision.
Collaborate closely with the Project Superintendent and broader team to ensure safe, effective outcomes.
Lead geotechnical investigations, assessments, and designs that drive project success.
Build technical reports and recommendations that influence construction and operational decisions.
Manage geotechnical risks and contribute to innovative, practical solutions in a tailings dam setting.

What you can bring to the role
Degree qualified in either Civil, Geotechnical or Mine Engineering coupled with experience in geotechnical/tailings dam design, construction and/or operation.
Experience in geotechnical assessments of dam stability and Critical State Soil Mechanics.
Solid understanding of internationally recognised tailings management standards and best practice guidelines such as ANCOLD, MAC/CDA, GISTM.
Thorough comprehension of soil and tailings characterisation (in situ tests, sampling and laboratory testing).
Strong skills in tailings operation and monitoring systems.
