THE ROLE:  

AMD Advanced Technology Group is an entrepreneurial research and development team to build AMD's future advanced platforms & products. Our teams work closely with outside customers and internal teams to develop hardware, software, and systems solutions into next generation computing platforms.

 

As part of AMD Advanced Technology Group, you will work within a winning team that will collaborate with internal teams & customers, explore new platform technologies, and lead the development of best-in-class hardware, software, and systems technologies that our customers will use for real-world problems.  

 

In this position you will be working as an MTS quality engineer, focusing on teamwork, process improvement and efficiency. Driving quality from the earliest stages of development and ensuring validation is done efficiently, leveraging automation and tools as needed. You will be a member of a high-performing team, which will have you working with teams across multiple sites.  

 

THE PERSON:  

AMD is seeking a talented Component Quality Engineer to join our Advanced Technologies Group. The role requires a high degree of drive and communication skills to ensure the team follows through on the delivery of committed requirements, ensuring an amazing customer experience. The right candidate must be adept in understanding modern technologies, clarifying requirements, and ensuring those requirements are met.  

 

The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical contribution in the CQE/QA team and will define the test strategy and create and execute both manual and automated tests. They must have a keen eye, interest in visual quality, and set elevated expectations for our product to exceed customer expectations. They must be meticulous in their daily work, have effective communication skills and be steadfast in their beliefs on quality. They will work with developers and QA personnel effectively across organizations within and outside of AMD. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • As a senior member of the verification team, you will understand the requirements, design, and feature implementation to define the verification scope and develop test strategy to verify the software's correctness. To achieve this, you will be expected to work with PM's and engineering teams 
  • You will improve validation capabilities to meet quality goals through tools, technical and procedural methodology enhancements (applying best practices, defining testing strategies and metrics etc.), and participation in various internal and cross-functional initiatives 
  • Proficiency in debugging and root causing internal and customer reported issues. 
  • Develop and execute manual and automated test cases  
  • Perform visual testing against defined pass/fail criteria as well as subjective pass/fail criteria 
  • Understand AMD & 3rd party IPs to ensure quality of services and user experiences 
  • Work with cross functional teams across multiple groups and geographies 
  • Gather details from all sites and provide timely reports for KPIs and status 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Quality assurance experiences in international companies and fast paced projects  
  • Experience with testing Computer Vision, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) technologies preferred. 
  • Experience in testing Camara, Video and Image Quality preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Testing: Agile, Mobile, Usability, Power, Performance, KPI, Benchmarks, Security 
  • Experience in Linux, Android, and Windows platform testing 
  • Excellent C/C++, Python, bash, and scripting fundamentals  
  • Experience in test automation design, implementation, and scripting a plus 
  • Ability to quickly learn new and existing technologies  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills  
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills  
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline
