THE ROLE:

The Director of Strategy Insights and Program Management is the Chief Communications Officer's right hand in building, activating, and continually sharpening AMD's communications strategy — and in organizing how the team works together to drive success in the company's most visible moments. This person partners will partner with the CCO and Global Comms leaders to define strategic direction (mission, vision and goals) and achieve alignment across Global Comms and with key stakeholders. They will partner with the owners of each goal to set measurable outcomes, assess progress and revise the strategy to maximize impact and evolve with the needs of the business.

Alignment is a key part of the role, and they must ensure that teams and individuals across global comms understand the strategy and are able to connect their work to it.

This role is also responsible for program-management of the high-stakes programs where execution has to be flawless and the team must come together to deliver at speed and with precision.

THE PERSON:

This is a role for someone who thinks like a strategist, operates like a program manager, and is energized by both the whiteboard and the run-of-show. They must also be highly collaborative, able to drive accountability as well as getting into the trenches to ensure work is done and teams are coming together for the success of the all.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shape the strategy

  • Partner with the CCO to develop the communications strategy, bringing structure, insight, and a clear point of view to its creation, while integrating perspectives and priorities across the full spectrum of Global Communications functions including CEO Communications, corporate communications, PR, analyst relations, social, and executive and employee communications.
  • Partner with Global Comms leaders to ensure their charters are represented within the strategy and that they are accountable owners of the relevant areas

Activate it across the team

  • Distribute the strategy across the comms team and make sure every member understands how their work connects to it.
  • Translate strategy into execution — turning priorities into clear plans, owners, and outcomes.

Measure and refine it

  • Define and track the KPIs that determine whether the strategy is working.
  • Measure the team's work against those KPIs, surface what the data is telling us, and revise the strategy to keep it impactful.

Program-manage the moments that matter most

  • Lead end-to-end program management for AMD's highest-impact, highest-visibility communications work, including CEO market visits, quarterly earnings, and the annual Advancing AI event.
  • Drive the planning, coordination, and execution these moments demand across stakeholders and timelines.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Progressive years in communications, strategy, or a blend of both, with a strong program management track record.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into execution and to align a team around a shared plan.
  • Fluency with measurement — defining KPIs, reading the signal, and adjusting course.
  • Experience running complex, high-visibility programs in a fast-moving environment; tech or semiconductor exposure is a plus.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to bring people and teams together to drive impact for the business
  • Comfort operating at the executive level and influencing without direct authority.
  • Exceptional organization, judgment, and calm under pressure.
