THE ROLE:  

As a Director of AI Transformation for AMD's Shift Left AI initiative, you will work with the technical and management leadership to oversee end-to-end delivery of cutting-edge AI/ML solutions for RTL & Backend Design, Verification in close collaboration with AMD's Software and Operations organizations. In addition, you will work closely with the leadership to deliver regular reporting for AMD's senior executive leadership and assist in the documentation and management process to ensure AMD's AI initiatives are developed and tracked in accordance with AMD's responsible use of AI guidelines.

Leveraging their engineering background and demonstrated success in silicon design delivery, verification and organizational change management, the successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and analysis skills.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead cross-organizational outreach, alignment, and influence to accelerate AI-driven transformation.
  • Drive change management initiatives that enable teams to adopt AI-first and agentic workflow practices.
  • Define AMD's strategy for applying agentic systems, foundation models, and tooling across R&D workflows.
  • Provide deep expertise in agentic workflow design, retrieval/augmentation patterns, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Partner with RTL Design and Verification teams to identify and deliver high-impact AI opportunities; domain experience in D&V is a significant plus.
  • Oversee program execution, reporting, and alignment with AMD's responsible AI guidelines.
  • Assess the technical feasibility of new products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with RTL and verification architects, technical leads, and engineers
  • Develop program schedules, considering various silicon development process and dependencies, and build staffing plans to support the timeline.
  • Participate in creating project plans and schedules; develop and improve processes for tracking projects and risk mitigation.
  • Own resource planning, status reporting, and issue communication to key partners, including senior executives and customers.
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates and reviews to Shift Left AI Leadership 
  • Lead across cross-functional teams, including business units and engineering organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering counterparts across global sites to plan and align operational efficiencies.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience leading Silicon Design engineering teams
  • Expertise with silicon design verification or software development processes.
  • Familiarity with AI and ML concepts and development practices.
  • Excellent presentation and leadership skills, able to lead technical discussions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading complex, interrelated projects, programs, and functions
  • Outstanding team player, dedicated to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering
