We are seeking a Director of Verification responsible for defining, deploying, and supporting best‑in‑class verification flows across the company. This role owns the evaluation, adoption, continuous improvement, and rapid at-scale deployment strategy of simulation, formal, and verification IP (VIP) tools and methodologies, enabling first‑silicon success with high quality and predictable schedules.

The Director will work closely with and guide a multi-disciplined team of verification architects and engineers and partner closely with design teams and EDA vendors to deliver scalable, robust verification solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Verification Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and own the verification methodology roadmap spanning simulation, formal verification, and VIP across multiple IP, product lines and SoC programs
  • Guide a team of architects and engineers defining methodology and driving product team deployment adoption of industry and internal solutions, setting clear technical direction, priorities, and success metrics
  • Identify, evaluate and integrate new verification solutions including EDA and native AI leveraged technology. Align, influence and execute verification strategy with AMD AI strategy
  • Act as an executive technical authority for verification flows, driving consistency while allowing flexibility for program‑specific needs
  • Champion verification quality, coverage closure, and risk reduction at the organizational and executive level

Verification Deployment Adoption & Vendor Collaboration

  • Own and evolve simulation, formal and Verification IP flows based on industry available solutions, including performance, debug, regression scalability, and advanced verification features
  • Partner closely with design teams to ensure verification flows are integrated and deployed effectively
  • Serve as a primary interface to EDA vendors (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens), influencing verification solution roadmaps, driving issue resolution, and evaluating new technologies
  • Represent verification in technical and business reviews, providing clear status, risks, and recommendations

Operational Excellence & Talent Development

  • Establish metrics for verification efficiency, quality, and productivity; drive continuous improvement based on data
  • Develop training and onboarding strategies to scale verification expertise across the broader engineering organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Experience in hardware verification, with significant leadership experience managing senior technical teams
  • Deep hands‑on knowledge of:
    • Simulation‑based verification and debug
    • Formal verification
    • Verification IP (VIP)
