The Field Application Engineer position will be the technical interface for AMD's embedded products with embedded customers in the INDIA region. As an Engineer, the role will be responsible for technical support for AMD's embedded products, particularly FPGA and embedded x86 products.  In this position, the individual will help AMD drive a new era of embedded computing by engaging with large INDIA end customers to demonstrate how AMD technology can be used to address the needs of their business. The role will provide technical support for AMD's embedded pipeline with a special focus on pre-sales and development support activity as opportunities transition from opportunity to deployment.  Building confidence with key customer influencers and overcoming technical objections will be critical for success in the role.  Post-sales technical support is also required as the account encounters technical issues.  The role will be expected to handle technical escalations that may occur and accelerate resolutions. The Engineer must have a strong technical knowledge base and skill-set but be equally effective in communication with both customers and internal AMD stakeholders.  Must be proficient in troubleshooting in embedded platform, system and module-level design evaluations & developing reference designs.

The primary focus of the FAE will be to:

• Develop technical relationships with target end customer accounts
• Win new embedded opportunities at end customers by establishing technical solutions based on AMD technology
• Work with AMD internal teams across AMD Business Units to build technical presentations and documentation to be delivered in the field
• Deliver technical presentations and sales pitches to influence new AMD sales with customers and partners. 

This position will require a broad technical understanding of embedded applications, especially in the communications segment. The position may require specialized knowledge of microprocessor and FPGA architectures, embedded knowledge including operating systems, BIOS & firmware is a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & Desired Skills/Exeperience

• The preferred candidate should have a combination of relevant academic and professional experience. The minimum qualifications associated with this position are Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Solid hands-on experience with Vivado Design Suite and/or ISE
• Deep level knowledge of FPGA architecture
• Familiarity with various protocols and interfaces like Ethernet, PCIe, DDR etc
• Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex problems involving multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams
• High energy, results driven mentality with strong people/leadership skills.
• This position requires an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise.  Must be a team player with excellent collaborative skills and superior written and oral communication skills
