The Global Trade Compliance Specialist will provide support to ensure that AMD operations in Europe comply with all applicable US, EU, and national export controls in each country it has operations, together with customs compliance at all points of entry in EU.  The successful candidate will partner closely with the broader Global Trade Compliance team, plus Logistics partners, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and any applicable regulatory agencies. The successful candidate should have a good understanding of export and customs procedures, have a strong focus record retention, and be capable of working with team members across different countries and time zones.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Experience with Global Trade systems in ERP environment
  • Work closely with customs brokers in The Netherlands, Czechia, Ireland, UK, and Germany, to provide import and export guidance and oversight
  • Oversee export processes to ensure properly licensed, origin marked, classified, and valued
  • Prepare and submit export licence applications to the relevant EU / UK authorities.
  • Manage Global Licence for exports of export-controlled items from CZ, ensuring licence conditions are met, end use/user is verified, and customs paperwork is in order
  • Strong partnership with regional Logistics and Tax teams
  • Interface with customs offices and export authorities in relevant EU Member States as necessary
  • Build relationships with freight forwarders, bonded warehouse keepers, customs brokers, outside counsel in in relevant EU Member States as necessary
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information relating to customs and export rules
  • Align with wider Trade Compliance team on new products, markets, regulations.
  • Customs Audit support: regulatory framework, internal meetings with local teams involved, collect information, etc.
  • Manage recordkeeping requirements relating to regional compliance activities

 

 

The Person

 

  • 3+ years of experience in Import and Export processes (customs clearances).
  • Well versed in working on SAP and MS office applications.
  • Good knowledge: export licence applications in EU, and in particular Global Licences.
  • Good knowledge of US export regulations
  • Good knowledge of customs rules relating to customs (bonded) warehousing in CZ.
