THE ROLE: 

The AMD NBIO Team is seeking a Power lead with good industry experiences to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's IP, you will be part of a high speed I/O virtualization team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the best-in-class low power product to market. The NBIO Team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. 

 

THE PERSON:  

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Work with architect/manager/design lead to optimize our IP power from generation to generation 
    • Provide competitive power analysis of our IP, identify area for improvement and tradeoff 
    • Establish power bounding box for each project and align with SOC team 
    • Collaborate with Central team to collect power data throughout the development cycle 
    • Document power features, programming sequence and verification strategies 
    • Participate in post silicon power optimization and bring up 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

    • Strong industry experience in low power design 
    • Knowledge in PowerArtist and other power analysis tools 
    • Must have good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills 
    • Understanding of system architecture and various system power states 
    • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive changes to completion 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
