THE ROLE: 

This is a lead engineering position responsible for Product Engineering program technical planning for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating problems, solutions, and project status up to the executive level. You will provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers and influence others as a technical leader. You have the capability assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives, while dealing with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Technical Qualifications (Fab / Device / Yield)

  • Hands‑on experience with semiconductor fab manufacturing processes, statistical process control,  and end‑to‑end manufacturing/test flows
  • Strong understanding of device physics and interactions with manufacturing process modules
  • Proven expertise in yield analysis, yield ramp, and yield improvement methodologies
  • Experience correlating fab parametric (inline metrology, electrical-test data) to yield
  • Working knowledge of failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective actions
  • Experience supporting reliability stress testing and qualification activities

Data & Automation Skills

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret large fab datasets (inline, parametric, test, yield)
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Perl, or similar)
  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools such as JMP, MATLAB, or equivalent
  • Ability to build dashboards and automated reports to support data‑driven decisions

Collaboration & Leadership Behaviors

  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with Process Integration, Device, Design, Test, Manufacturing, and foundry teams
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in debug efforts to resolve yield, performance, and reliability issues
  • Strong communication skills to clearly present complex technical data to broad range of audiences: junior engineers to executive leadership
  • Self‑driven with strong ownership, accountability, and structured problem‑solving

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Demonstrated impact in manufacturing, yield, and/or reliability roles
  • Experience serving as a technical interface to foundries and internal stakeholders (POR/CIP optimization)
  • Experience building reusable analytics pipelines (SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Dataiku, Tableau, Spotfire)
  • Demonstrated technical leadership or mentorship of junior engineers
