THE ROLE:

Test Engineering is a performance-driven team focused on cost, quality, and time-to-market, ensuring the availability of AMD Data Center Graphics products for customers.

  • Pre-silicon responsibilities include gaining a deep understanding of product features, developing test plans and requirements, and building the software and hardware infrastructure necessary for execution. This role involves collaboration with Design and Platform Engineering, providing valuable test enhancement feedback for future designs.
  • Post-silicon responsibilities focus on delivering comprehensive test coverage on schedule and executing characterization plans. This may involve debugging silicon test performance issues, addressing yield challenges, optimizing manufacturing processes, and resolving device marginalities. The Test Engineer will work closely with Design and Platform Engineering to identify root causes stemming from debug, characterization, and margin analysis.

 

THE PERSON:

This role focuses on collaborating with stakeholders—including PE, PIM, Supply Chain and more—to develop and define ATE test strategies that ensure the timely deployment of test solutions for both internal and external teams.

A deep understanding of the test development process is essential, spanning from the NPI phase through to full-scale production. The ideal candidate should have broad expertise in IP development, test program creation, and test qualification, driving high-quality releases into the OSAT environment. Additionally, strong problem-solving skills are required to effectively manage production challenges within OSAT.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of project features and specifications.
  • Offer expert technical consultation and guidance on implementing test solutions effectively.
  • Develop and execute test strategies that align with product-specific milestones and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and fulfillment of test solution needs.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 8 years of industry experience required. Candidates with less experience but a proven track record are encouraged to apply.
  • Deep understanding in driving high-quality semiconductor test solution development from NPI phase through to full-scale production phase is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
  • Hands-on experience in ATE test handling, execution, and development—Advantest V93K experience preferred.
  • Some knowledge of IP development and debugging is advantageous.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS/MS Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent
