THE ROLE: We are seeking a Senior Linux Display Driver Development Engineer to own and drive display enablement for AMD platforms from pre-silicon architecture through post-silicon product delivery. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of the Linux kernel, display hardware, and graphics software stacks. In this role, you will help shape production-quality display solutions across AMD platforms, working closely with hardware, graphics, platform, validation, and open-source software teams. You will influence display architecture, enable advanced display features, debug complex system-level issues, and help deliver stable, high-performance display experiences for AMD products.   THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong ownership, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. You are comfortable working across hardware and software boundaries, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving complex technical issues to closure. You communicate clearly, manage priorities effectively, and bring a detail-oriented mindset to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes in a fast-paced environment.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Linux Display drivers based on the DRM/KMS framework.
  • Own display enablement across modesetting, platform bring-up, stability, and regression handling.
  • Develop and debug DisplayPort and eDP features, including link training, MST/SST, DSC, and compliance scenarios.
  • Support display pipelines across HDMI, MIPI DSI, panels, overlays, and hardware display blocks.
  • Collaborate with Mesa, Wayland, and X11 teams to enable end-to-end graphics and display functionality.
  • Perform deep system-level debugging and root cause analysis across kernel, hardware, firmware, and graphics software layers.
  • Drive technical issues to closure across development, validation, and product delivery cycles.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to manage priorities, improve execution, and deliver on program goals.
  • Contribute to production-quality display software with a focus on performance, stability, maintainability, and scalability.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrated experience in Linux system software and display driver development.
  • Strong expertise in DRM/KMS and Linux kernel internals, including DMA, interrupts, and memory management.
  • Hands-on experience developing and debugging display interfaces such as DisplayPort, eDP, HDMI, and MIPI DSI.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and kernel-level debugging.
  • Experience delivering production-quality code for complex hardware and software platforms.
  • Familiarity with Mesa, Wayland, X11, and end-to-end Linux graphics enablement.
  • Knowledge of display pipelines, modesetting, link training, display compliance, and regression analysis.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and debug complex system-level issues.
  • Strong communication, ownership, prioritization, and cross-team collaboration skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent practical experience will also be considered where applicable.
