THE ROLE:
As a Silicon Design Engineer, you will collaborate with RTL and Verification engineers to improve existing engineering workflows and design new tools and processes. Your work will focus on increasing productivity, reliability, and scalability across design, build, simulation, and release environments.
This role emphasizes automation, maintainable tooling, and continuous improvement of engineering systems that support silicon development.

You bring experience or strong interest in automation and developer productivity. You approach complex technical systems methodically, identify inefficiencies, and contribute practical solutions. You work effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams and communicate technical information clearly through code, documentation, and collaboration.
You are open to learning new tools, technologies, and workflows as projects evolve, and you contribute to a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, test, monitor, and maintain toolchains that support critical engineering workflows
- Collaborate with RTL and Verification teams to improve build, simulation, and release processes
- Develop and maintain automation to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of engineering efforts
- Identify recurring issues or bottlenecks in existing systems and contribute to scalable, well-documented solutions
- Support the reliability and maintainability of internal tools through debugging, monitoring, and process improvements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl, Java, Groovy, Ruby, or similar)
- Experience with object-oriented programming concepts
- Familiarity with automating, monitoring, and debugging routine engineering tasks
- Experience working with databases and SQL, or demonstrated ability to learn database concepts
- Experience with continuous integration systems and version control tools such as Perforce or GitHub
- Ability to organize work effectively, manage competing priorities, and communicate progress and issues clearly
- Experience with ASIC design or verification tools, languages, and flows is a plus, but not required
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
