THE ROLE: 

The AMD Product Security Office (PSO) is looking for an experienced software engineer to work on leading edge security technologies to enhance AMD's leadership in confidential computing solutions. You will work with Industry level security experts in design and development of security software to meet the emerging needs of the modern datacenter.

THE PERSON: 

A successful candidate is an experienced software team lead who is proficient in all aspects of software development lifecycle and has experience leading a SW team in the design and development of systems software and services. You are passionate about software development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Lead a team of software engineers in the development of security software and will be responsible for planning and execution to meet product timelines.
• Guide the team in following secure software development life cycle and will be involved in all its phases including SW design, coding, testing and debugging.
• Ensure the team adheres to secure coding guidelines and security practices to build robust SW that can withstand rigorous security testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including OS, drivers and FW developers in designing and implementing cross-layer dependencies and jointly perform integration testing of the full stack.
• Document the software design and perform design and code reviews. 
• Present and demonstrate your work to internal and external partners and provide consultation regarding security features, interfaces and programming requirements.

• 7+ years' experience in designing and developing system software solutions such as kernel, OS, device drivers​ and firmware.
• Experience in leading a team of SW engineers and in planning and execution of team's deliverables to produce high quality products that exceed customer expectations.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture systems and concepts, including server CPU systems, fundamentals of the system memory hierarchy and caches, and underlying system hardware and firmware. 
• Knowledge of existing hardware architecture(s) (x86 preferred) including associated security and/or virtualization extensions
• Knowledge or experience with Rust and C/C++ programming language​s
• Familiarity with system security concepts​

• Knowledge of confidential computing technologies such as AMD SEV-SNP
• Experience working with x86 virtualization technology ​
• Knowledge or experience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
