The Role:

The Client and Graphics Engineering Validation Team is looking for a dynamic and energetic senior technical manager and leader to join our growing post-silicon validation team. The Memory sub-system validation lead is responsible to drive and deliver pre- and post-silicon planning, validation and characterization of Client and Graphics Memory on AMD's SOC products. The validation team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

 

The Person:

An experienced leader with ability to drive both technical direction and management of the Client and Graphics memory validation teams. This person will effectively collaborate with cross-function teams to plan, validate, and debug issues to resolution. You are expected to lead by example, mentor engineering staff, and to be able to communicate effectively across varying levels of senior management and technical staff.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a talented post silicon team focused on client and graphics memory delivering quality memory solutions for new SOC products
  • Lead client and graphics memory enablement and validation strategies from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware/software, validation, and debug teams
  • Proactively leading memory project planning, developing and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of deliverables at committed milestones
  • Drive debug and resolution of memory issues across silicon, firmware/software, and debug teams
  • Develops regular status representing the memory team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management
  • Develop and lead memory process improvement initiatives including technical testplan development, quality, and efficiency improvements
  • Working with major DRAM memory vendors to provide customer solutions with our SOC's

Preferred Experience:

  • Engineering management and technical leadership experience in client and graphics memory domains.
  • Considered a technical leader in SOC memory technologies and has a proven track record for sustained innovation.
  • Extensive knowledge of LPDDR5x, DDR5, GDDR6 memory, technical debug, and validation strategy.
  • Collaborate and drive memory related silicon issues across multi-functional architecture, design, software and firmware teams
  • Able to work as a team and work efficiently in a dynamic environment and on multiple projects

Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management.  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical or Computer Engineering
