THE ROLE:
As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product portfolio, you will be part of a high-performance AMD team driving the delivery of high-quality, industry-leading technology to the market. The team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to highlight successes and facilitate continuous career development. This isn't a “keep the trains running” role—it's the engine room. You'll be the technical orchestrator behind our Instinct product line, turning complex challenges into a clear, repeatable playbook and shaping the platform stack architecture that powers next‑gen AI datacenters. Your work closes the loop from design → supplier → manufacturing → field so we ship fewer defects, faster fixes, and smarter prevention—with measurable impact on customer trust and product velocity.
THE PERSON:
Senior Program Manager - Instinct Quality and Platform Architecture (Instinct™ AI Datacenter) hands-on Individual Contributor leadership role: we're looking for a proven builder with leading high‑stakes, cross‑functional programs across HW/SW/FW, who can influence at the executive level and roll up their sleeves with engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program & Project Management
- Own end‑to‑end Quality initiatives: define schedules, milestones, success criteria, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing, Components, Board engineering, firmware, validation, QA, product, field ops, partners/OEMs) to drive decisions and resolve blockers.
- Identify risks and technology dependencies; create mitigation and contingency plans and proactively escalate when needed.
- Drive release readiness: validation plans, customer previews, deployment playbooks, and handoffs to field engineering/customer success.
- Produce concise executive updates, program briefs, and status reports.
- Own charter, milestones, KPIs, for quality + platform programs; set the operating cadence that drives decisions and removes blockers.
- Turn data into decisions with Jira, and Power BI dashboards (coverage %, FA cycle time, defect burn‑down, supplier readiness).
- Proactively leading project planning, developing, and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of work you are doing at committed landmarks
- Develops regular status representing the system memory team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management
- Coaches and mentors' staff
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive Technical Program or Product Management experience leading complex, cross‑functional technical programs; experience with server platforms, Manufacturing, Platform, Architecture, firmware, validation, or enterprise software.
- Proficiency with program tools (JIRA, MS Project, Teams, Power BI); familiarity with Python a plus.
- Strong technical fluency in server systems (hardware, BIOS/firmware/microcode, validation/test processes) and understanding of AI workload characteristics.
- Proven ability to manage schedules, risk, requirement tracking, escalations, and stakeholder communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to executive leadership and customers.
- Demonstrated customer focus and ability to drive decisions in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
- Deep platform stack understanding (accelerators/GPU, FW/driver layers, orchestration) and how quality, reliability, and performance interlock.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred
