THE ROLE: 

The focus of this role is to research, develop, plan and craft the features and specifications for circuits that detect, control, and respond to the management of clocks and power delivery within graphics and high performance computation IP at AMD.

THE PERSON:

A successful candidate will be an analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.  The candidate should possess excellent comprehension, communication, and interpersonal skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, multi-project and multi-team environment using state of the art tools and technology.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Collaborate with SOC and feature architects, architects of other subsystems, RTL design engineers, and firmware engineers to define the power management features needed across a broad platform of devices
  • Write specifications to define those features
  • Balance the needs for robust solutions, unified broad applicability across product families, and suitability for fast execution.
  • Review detailed microarchitecture specs and test plans for completeness and correctness


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools and code analysis tools
  • Graphics pipeline knowledge
  • Familiarity with power management techniques and types of clock sources
  • SW/FW/HW interactions and programming sequences
  • Mixed-signal design experience, or experience with power distribution networks

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering 
  • Masters or Doctorate preferred
