The Role:
As a member of the Discrete GPU Platform Firmware Operations group you will participate in many aspects of the end to end firmware architecture life cycle. Driving enablement of platform centric features across wide range of AMD products focusing on development of embedded firmware and graphics / multimedia drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the firmware representative for the respective SOC program in AMD cross-organizational meetings
- Be looked at as the firmware Point of Contact (PoC) and responsible for driving technical discussions within the broad domain of firmware groups
- Responsible for driving & coordinating debug of critical severity firmware centric defects/issues
- Firmware PoC for engagements with Kicker SKUs and engagement with Customer Engineering teams
- Participate in reviewing requests to add new requirements after program plan exit phase
Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated experience across software, firmware, and hardware development lifecycles, from architecture and design through validation and product delivery.
- Strong technical leadership and architectural expertise in software, firmware, System-on-Chip (SoC), and Intellectual Property (IP) design.
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, platform architecture, and complex system integration.
- Experience defining and implementing secure platform architectures with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Strong knowledge of power management, memory architecture, subsystem optimization, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency with low-level hardware interfaces, communication protocols, and firmware-hardware interactions.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, including SR-IOV and related resource partitioning and isolation frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives, drive issue resolution, and influence architecture decisions across large engineering organizations.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
