THE ROLE:
We are hiring for a Technical Partnerships - AI & Compute to help scale the technical-business bridge across AMD and strategic external collaborations. This role supports high-value AI partnerships by translating partner needs into technical opportunities, aligning internal teams, coordinating execution, and ensuring that collaborations produce measurable engineering and business value.
This is a hands-on technical partnerships role. You will work across AI research, software, hardware, product, business development, and partner engineering teams. The goal is to make the voice of the customer actionable: clear problem statements, credible technical plans, aligned stakeholders, crisp demos, and outcomes that can be measured.
THE PERSON:
You are a technically deep operator who can build trust across engineering and business audiences. You can understand enough of the AI and systems details to ask the right questions, identify risks, and shape credible plans. You are organized, clear, and comfortable driving progress without owning every implementation detail yourself.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support strategic AI and compute partnerships from technical discovery through scoping, execution, demo readiness, and outcome review.
- Translate partner and customer needs into clear problem statements, requirements, technical briefs, success metrics, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate across research, engineering, infrastructure, product, legal, business development, and leadership stakeholders.
- Prepare technical materials for partner meetings, internal reviews, executive updates, and strategic planning.
- Track commitments, risks, dependencies, and decision points across multiple technical engagements.
- Build reusable processes for capturing customer signal and feeding it into research, product, and engineering roadmaps.
- Help teams communicate technical progress in terms of measurable value, adoption, risk reduction, performance, quality, or engineering time saved.
TECHNICAL FOCUS AREAS
- AI systems, generative AI, LLM agents, model optimization, inference, and applied ML workflows.
- Compute platforms, GPU and CPU software stacks, developer tooling, performance engineering, and hardware/software co-design.
- Technical partnership operations, including scoping, stakeholder alignment, technical documentation, demos, milestones, and executive communication.
- Customer and partner signal synthesis: turning recurring needs into roadmap insights and prioritized technical work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical foundation in AI, software systems, hardware systems, compute platforms, or related engineering domains.
- Experience working across technical and business stakeholders in partnerships, product, engineering, solutions, strategy, or program roles.
- Ability to write clear technical briefs, synthesize ambiguous discussions, and drive alignment across teams.
- Strong project leadership, organization, and follow-through across multiple parallel workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills with engineers, researchers, executives, partner teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience with AI infrastructure, GPU computing, ML systems, developer platforms, semiconductor products, or high-performance computing.
- Experience supporting strategic partnerships, customer engineering, technical business development, ecosystem programs, or executive-facing technical initiatives.
- Familiarity with LLMs, agents, model training/inference, software optimization, benchmarking, or AI developer workflows.
- Ability to prototype, analyze technical artifacts, or work directly with engineers when needed.
- Experience creating technical narratives, demos, partner updates, or internal strategy documents.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's is a plus when paired with strong technical depth.
