THE ROLE

AMD is seeking a highly experienced Test & Measurement Systems Architect to define and drive AMD's long-term strategy within the global Test & Measurement (T&M) market. This role will serve as the technical and strategic lead for key T&M customers, influencing future AMD product direction while enabling differentiated customer solutions built on AMD adaptive computing, FPGA, AI, and x86 technologies.

As a member of AMD's Embedded and Adaptive Computing organization, you will work directly with industry-leading instrumentation, semiconductor test, wireless infrastructure test, network test customers. You will identify emerging market trends, define solution strategies, and help shape the technologies that power next-generation test and measurement systems.This position combines deep technical expertise, market insight, ecosystem leadership, and customer engagement to accelerate AMD design wins, solution adoption, and market growth within the T&M industry.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate is a recognized industry expert with extensive experience architecting complex Test & Measurement systems and defining technology strategies. They possess a unique combination of technical depth, customer-facing leadership, business acumen, and market awareness.You are equally comfortable discussing system architecture with customer CTOs, defining future technology requirements with product development teams, and representing AMD as an industry thought leader.You are passionate about innovation, skilled at identifying market opportunities, and capable of translating customer challenges into strategic technology investments that create long-term business value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define Market and Technology Strategy

• Define AMD's long-term Test & Measurement system strategy across semiconductor test, wireless test, network test, instrumentation, and emerging markets.
• Identify technology inflection points, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements that influence future AMD silicon, software, IP, and platform roadmaps.
• Drive strategic planning activities that align AMD investments with future customer and market needs.
• Develop technology adoption strategies that expand AMD's market presence and design win opportunities.

Lead Strategic Customer Architecture Engagements

• Serve as AMD's primary technical advisor and trusted architecture partner for strategic T&M customers.
• Engage directly with customer CTOs, chief architects, and engineering leadership to define future solutions and technology roadmaps.
• Lead system architecture reviews, technical strategy discussions, and long-range planning engagements.
• Translate customer roadmap requirements into actionable recommendations for AMD product and technology organizations.
• Identify and develop opportunities for joint innovation, technology incubation, and next-generation solution development.

Drive Solution Definition and Product Influence

• Define differentiated solutions utilizing AMD CPUs, adaptive SoCs, FPGAs, AI Engines, and software platforms.
• Influence future AMD product requirements and roadmap priorities through direct customer and market engagement.
• Drive architecture concepts, reference designs, and platform strategies that accelerate customer adoption.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Applications teams to ensure market requirements are reflected in future products.

Build and Lead Ecosystem Strategy

• Define ecosystem requirements for software, IP, development tools, reference platforms, and partner technologies.
• Establish strategic relationships with software vendors, system integrators, instrumentation providers, and technology partners.
• Drive co-development programs that expand AMD's solution portfolio and market reach.
• Ensure ecosystem readiness for new AMD product introductions and strategic initiatives.

Support Business Growth and Design Wins

• Partner with business development, product marketing, sales, and field organizations to identify and pursue strategic opportunities.
• Support technical engagement for major RFQs, RFPs, strategic bids, and customer escalations.
• Prioritize applications and target accounts based on market opportunity, competitive positioning, and revenue potential.
• Identify opportunities to increase AMD content and value within customer platforms and solutions.

External Industry Leadership

• Represent AMD at industry conferences, technical workshops, standards organizations, customer forums, and executive briefings.
• Develop thought leadership content including white papers, technical articles, presentations, webinars, and keynote sessions.
• Build AMD's visibility and influence within the global T&M technology community.
• Generate innovative solution concepts and intellectual property that strengthen AMD's market position.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Extensive industry experience in Test & Measurement, instrumentation, semiconductor test, communications test, aerospace and defense, industrial automation, or related markets.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, signal processing, embedded systems, and heterogeneous compute architectures.
• Experience architecting solutions utilizing CPUs, FPGAs, adaptive SoCs, AI accelerators, GPUs, or custom ASICs.
• Deep understanding of high-speed interfaces and networking technologies, including PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, CXL, and related standards.
• Experience with software-defined instrumentation, signal processing, data analytics, and AI-assisted test methodologies.
• Knowledge of embedded software, firmware, Linux, real-time operating systems, and development toolchains.
• Track record influencing product strategy, technology roadmaps, or ecosystem development.
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Experience leading technical collaborations across geographically distributed teams and external partners.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor's,  Master's degree or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
