Position Overview:
Barnstable Academy is seeking a dedicated Executive Function Teacher for the 2025-26 school year to support middle and high school students in developing essential organizational, time-management, planning, and self-monitoring skills. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about helping students build the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one instruction focused on executive functioning skills.
Help students develop individualized strategies for organization, task initiation, goal setting, and academic follow-through.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and parents to support students' academic performance.
Monitor and document student progress toward executive function goals.
Foster a growth mindset and promote student independence and self-advocacy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Experience working with students with ADHD, learning differences, or executive function challenges.
Knowledge of executive function strategies and interventions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a private school or college-prep setting.
Certification in special education or a related discipline.
Familiarity with assistive technology and academic support tools.
