Summary of Position: 

Under the general direction of the IT Director, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and optimization, of all IT systems infrastructure within the organization. In addition to the essential functions, the Systems Administrator will also be required to assist the IT team in project-related work, scoping, data backups, patching, and cyber security efforts. This position may also be required to assist in basic helpdesk functions as needed. 

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred; Experience in related fields may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.   

Experience:

• Previous experience working in a healthcare setting required.

• 3-4 years of experience in an IT Administrator role or industry equivalent

• Experience with configuring/deploying IT systems such as firewalls, servers, data backups, patches, and basic networking.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Working knowledge of SQL, HL7, VPN, WSUS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Cisco VOIP Systems, Domain Controllers, documentation and cyber security best practices. 

Certifications/Licensure: 

• Microsoft Server 2019/2022

• Azure Cloud

• SQL 2019/2022

• VM-Ware or comparable software

• Other systems-related certifications will be considered

Essential Functions

1. Provides consistently exceptional care at all times.

2. Tracks hardware equipment and assists with annual budgetary recommendations.

3. Operates, maintains, and tests all IT related backup systems according to industry standard. 

4. Assists in the overall planning and execution of organizational cyber security efforts.

5. Maintains, tests, and deploys all updates or patches related to IT infrastructure. 

6. Manages overall patch update schedule for the organization through change management procedures.

7. Facilitates timely and effective communication with departmental and organizational leadership regarding the status of work requests, deliverables and issues.

8. Contributes to the resolution of help desk tickets. 

9. Responds to requests in a timely and professional manner.

10. Completes issue reporting and tracking, manages solutions through change management processes. 

11. Provides a central resource for all systems related requests and projects.

12. Provides technical support as needed.

13. Performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance operations

14. Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department.

15. Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital.

16. Accepts assignment as preceptor for new staff.

17. Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments as observed by manager.

18. Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
