PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The purpose of a Central Processing Service Line Coordinator is being responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Central Processing Department. Includes staffing, workflow, quality improvement, and education of staff, material management, and other management functions.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Demonstrates leadership ability through education and in-service training to staff.
Duty 2: Maintains communication with the department to ensure coordination of work efforts.
Duty 3: Assists in review and update of departmental policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards
Duty 4: Directs support staff in daily care, maintenance and monitoring of supplies, instruments and equipment processed within the department.
Duty 5: Provides assistance in the development of capital budget requirements through review of departmental needs.
Duty 6: Completes annual reviews with staff.
Duty 7: Supports cost containment efforts through conservation of supplies and care of equipment.
- Duty 8: Serves as a resource person in day to day activities providing support in areas of decontamination and processing of instruments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Registered Nurse eligible to practice in the State of Ohio
Current Ohio RN license
Two years' experience in the operating room
A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
Individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his/her assigned unit/department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient status. Must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the area's policies and procedures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification as CS technician/manager encouraged preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires full range of body motion including kneeling and twisting. Must be able to stand at least five hours a day and walk for two hours per day with intermittently sitting, lifting, bending, and climbing. The associate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Associate must be able to use hands to push and pull supplies and operate equipment. This position requires reaching above the shoulder. This position requires corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. Also requires exposure to a hot and cold work environment. Requires some exposure to chemicals and gases.
