About the Role We are seeking an experienced Control-M (DBA) Services Practice Lead Manager to lead a team of high-performing, customer-facing consultants and architects. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engagement, requiring you to drive team excellence while maintaining personal billable utilization targets. As a Practice Lead Manager, you will be responsible for fostering employee development and engagement in a distributed work environment, while serving as both an engagement leader and mentor. Your passion for delivering successful customer outcomes will be essential in building strong relationships across the BMC ecosystem, including Sales, Support, and Product Engineering teams.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of consultants and architects to achieve objectives and maintain high performance standards.
  • Manage resources effectively and develop workforce plans aligned to geographical demand and business needs.
  • Drive employee development through regular coaching, mentoring, and documented development plans following SPEAR guidelines.
  • Ensure team members obtain and maintain required certifications for their roles.
  • Facilitate advanced workshops and meetings to ensure engagement and achievement of stated objectives.
  • Build and maintain key relationships within the BMC ecosystem, including Sales, Support, and Product Engineering.
  • Deliver assigned responsibilities in accordance with BMC Excellence delivery methodology within engagement scope and budget.
  • Achieve personal billable utilization targets while balancing team developmental needs.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and incorporate talent reviews and succession planning into operating cadence.
  • Drive successful customer discovery and requirements capture using BMC delivery methodology.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and peers, making prescriptive recommendations that support business goals.
  • Manage organizational change and demonstrate conflict resolution skills in all situations.
  • Curate team best practices and project knowledge contributions.
  • Build a continuous pipeline of strong candidates for future hires.
  • Contribute resources and support for global delivery initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal operations procedures, ethics, and compliance training requirements.
Requirements Must Have:
  • Proven experience in management and services delivery with a track record of driving employee development and engagement.
  • Expert knowledge of distributed and mainframe environment.
  • Expert-level knowledge of BMC Control-M, Control-M Output Management, and Control-M/Tape software tools.
  • Strong resource management and organizational change management skills.
  • Advanced leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate advanced workshops and meetings effectively.
  • Experience in building key relationships across sales, support, and product engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to demonstrate conflict resolution in all situations.
  • Advanced organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Deployment and administration experience within the BMC Software product portfolio.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Certinia, Oracle Applications (MDA), Callidus, and iLearn.
  • Knowledge of BMC delivery methodology and best practices.
  • Background in building champions among project teams.
  • Experience communicating with C-level executives.
  • Experience in globally distributed work environments.

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $132,975 - $221,625
