Sales Best Practices Manager
BMC Helix is seeking a Sales Best Practices Manager for the Americas to join a highly trusted and influential team that partners directly with field leadership on BMC Helix's most complex, high value, and strategically important transactions. The Best Practices organization serves as a center of excellence for deal strategy, negotiation, and agreement structure, ensuring BMC Helix optimizes customer outcomes while protecting long term business value.
This role requires strong executive presence, advanced negotiation and financial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes across a highly matrixed organization. Best Practices Managers are deeply embedded in the sales process, exposed to senior leadership, and actively shape how BMC Helix executes and governs large, non-standard, and highly visible deals.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
- Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership and account teams on complex commercial strategy, negotiation approach, and deal structure across strategic and high-risk opportunities
- Lead and coordinate cross functional stakeholders including Sales, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Customer Success, Order Services, Compliance, and Product to develop commercially sound, executable customer agreements
- Directly engage with customers, when appropriate, to support negotiations, resolve complex commercial issues, and expand the zone of possible agreement
- Partner with management and field leadership to develop strategies that balance short term revenue objectives with long term business sustainability
- Drive consistency, rigor, and best practices in deal execution, while enabling deal velocity and mitigating downstream booking, revenue recognition, and compliance risk
- Identify systemic issues, commercial trends, and opportunities for improvement across the sales process and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert for negotiation, commercial structuring, and value based selling, partnering with enablement to deliver targeted training and guidance
- Build and maintain deep, value add relationships across all internal organizations that influence or execute customer agreements
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- Exceptional communication and executive level facilitation skills, with the ability to drive alignment and decision making
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities, including strong pattern recognition and the ability to simplify complex commercial and contractual issues
- Minimum of ten years of direct sales or equivalent deal leadership experience in enterprise or strategic accounts
- Deep expertise in contracts, pricing, discounting, and selling strategies, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate complex, non standard agreements
- Proven experience leading and managing high stakes customer situations and negotiations involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to evaluate deal economics, trade offs, and long term value implications
- Highly organized, disciplined, and comfortable operating across multiple concurrent, high priority initiatives
- Strong understanding and practical application of principled negotiation methodologies

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country-specific benefits. At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. This roles compensation includes a mix of base salary and variable pay. The base salary range is $141,750 - $173,250, with an On-Target Earnings (OTE) range of $283,500 - $346,500.
