As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting our commitment to compliance and operational excellence. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented global team, contribute to strategic financial decisions, and drive the modernization of our financial processes.
How You Will Contribute to BMC's and Your Own Success:
- General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger accounting functions, ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP, and review and reconcile accounts
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead closing processes, prepare and post journal entries for ASC 840/Ind AS 116, capital leases, and reclassifications, and perform P&L and balance sheet reconciliations with variance analyses
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensure compliance with US GAAP and Ind AS, support management reporting, and maintain Ind GAAP entries in the designated system
- Direct and Indirect Taxation: Calculate taxable income for advance tax and month-end activities, prepare quarterly corporate tax packages with journal entries for current and deferred tax, and collaborate with tax consultants on returns and notices
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting regulations, support SOX compliance preparation, and facilitate internal and external audits
- Process Improvement: Identify enhancement opportunities, implement accounting best practices, and collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and support professional development initiatives
- Special Projects and Ad-Hoc Analysis: Contribute to management-assigned projects and conduct financial analyses to support strategic business decisions
To Ensure You're Set Up for Success, You Will Bring the Following Skillset:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with 6 to 8 years of professional experience
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role, with strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle) and MS Office, particularly advanced Excel
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities; strong attention to detail and accuracy; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
