As an ASL Teacher, you will play a key role in helping their students fully participate in deaf culture, while enabling communication between deaf and hearing people. You will also empower students to become more independent and to grow socially in the broader tapestry of cultures that make up our world. ASL teachers carry out crucial functions in the education and social advancement of deaf people. They teach the practical, functional skills needed for fluent use of ASL, resulting in an enormous impact on countless lives in diverse ways.
