As a Learning Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for providing curriculum training and support to teachers and assisting with curriculum implementation. Conducts ongoing staff development, performs periodic classroom visitations, collects, and reports quarterly student data, and monitors programs.

How You Will Impact Education

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

  • Develops and conducts in-service training for all teachers regarding the curriculum, researched-based instructional strategies, and best practice.
  • Performs periodic classroom visitations, assists teachers in the improvement of instructional performance, performs periodic binder reviews, and monitors improvement.
  • Demonstrates lessons in classroom situations for observation by teachers.
  • Trains new teachers in the use of Student Information System (SIS) and school-based resources and procedures.
  • Facilitates grade level and/or subject area team meetings
  • Serves as a resource to school administrators and content area teachers in identifying needs, adapting instructional techniques, and implementing strategies across the curriculum.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports school and student benchmark data
  • Initiates and maintain effective liaisons with district and professional associations to maintain a current knowledge and instructional best practices.
  • Attends monthly CSUSA Curriculum Cadres.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrates proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Student Information System (SIS) and email communications.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Strives to Implement best practices and positive character education consistently.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with certification in Middle School Education. A Master's Degree is Desirable
  • A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience and one year experience as grade-level chairperson, team leader, or resource teacher is desired
  • Demonstrated competency in curriculum writing, development, and coordination
  • May perform other duties assigned.
