As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will support the Registered Nurse by performing COVID-19 related duties as assigned and delegated by the school nurse, to include but not be limited to; triage with students/staff, contact tracing (close contact determination), communication with local health department, communication with parents/students, and updating of COVID-19 records and trackers.

How You Will Impact Education

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

  • Implement health plans under the Registered Nurse (RN) direction and supervision. Update RN on student progress
  • Administer ordered medications as directed by RN per local policy. Report student response and/or any concerns to the school nurse
  • Follow structured guidelines and protocol to care for students with illness or injury
  • Notify school nurse of incidents
  • Perform ordered procedures per policy under the supervision of the RN.
  • Perform student screening per policy, if trained
  • Assist RN with staff training

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work and interact with individual at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, including writing report sections, integrating content, and formatting the report electronically when needed.
  • Ability to establish a set of operating principles and routines, driving projects to completion, while insisting on highest level of quality.
  • Ability to consistently be at work, be on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to establish excellent interpersonal skills between all constituents: being courteous, professional, and helpful; Oral (including presentations), Written, Interpersonal (active listening), Negotiating and Influencing.
  • Computer Basics -- Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Student Information System (SIS).
  • Knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
  • 1-3 successful experience as a nurse assistant.
  • Current LPN license in good standing.
  • Such alternatives to the above requirements as CSUSA may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • May perform other duties assigned.
