DIRECTOR OF AUDIT- IT REGULATORY ISSUES MANAGEMENT WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Director of Audit for IT Regulatory Issues Management will support the Senior Director of IT Audit. This position will be responsible for IT related enforcement action(s) and regulatory remediation activities. This role acts as the central point of contact of accountability and coordination for all IT-related regulatory remediation work, ensuring consistent progress tracking, robust governance, timely reporting, and effective stakeholder engagement. This position will also provide support in responding to U.S. regulators and meet the evolving demands of the U.S. regulatory environment. As a strategic leader, you will bridge technical IT knowledge with regulatory and audit expectations, providing oversight across the lifecycle of IA issues from identification to closure. You will lead cross-functional project management efforts, challenge and validate audit workstreams, escalate issues to appropriate governance forums, and serve as the go-to expert for updates and reporting to Senior Leadership teams, including the Chief Audit Executive, GRC teams and U.S regulators.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Regulatory & Enforcement Action Oversight

  • Lead the coordination of IT-related regulatory issues and enforcement actions across internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and drive progress of IT remediation activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal IA methodologies.
  • Act as the primary liaison for updates to regulatory agencies, Internal Audit teams, and internal governance teams.

Project Management and Execution

  • Serve as the go-to person for regulatory issue status updates and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage multiple concurrent issue remediation projects end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to scope.
  • Facilitate weekly check-ins, progress reviews, and working group meetings with audit teams to drive accountability.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, action plan trackers and communication strategies.

Reporting & Governance

  • Provide timely, accurate and clear progress reporting to internal stakeholders including GRC, Audit Committees and executive leadership.
  • Support and contribute to quarterly and ad-hoc regulatory progress reports under tight timelines.
  • Escalate roadblocks, delays, or non-compliance to appropriate governance bodies and drive resolution.

Review and Challenge

    • Review documentation, closure packages, traceability matrices, and IA evidence to ensure they meet regulatory standards.
    • Proactively challenge audit teams to ensure work is robust, complete and aligned with regulatory expectations.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within a top tier financial services organization or Big "4" public accounting firm required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing staff required.
Additional Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Paisley GRC system highly desirable.
  • Excellent working knowledge of industry audit processes, business policies and current business and information technology developments.
  • Experience in managing complex regulatory or audit remediation efforts, particularly in a project management or program governance capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and delivery under tight timelines.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrate experience in audit-related fields, including a working knowledge of appropriate risk management techniques as well as a strong understanding of audit processes and internal controls.
  • Passion for client service, strong work ethic, highest integrity and a can-do positive attitude.
  • Detailed oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to challenge status quo and drive results.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic regulatory environment.
  • Experience in IT Risk, Regulatory Compliance, GRC or Internal Audit, ideally within a top tier financial services organization or Big "4" public accounting firm.
  • CISA, CIA, CPA, Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and frameworks (e.g., OCC, FRB, NIST, FFIEC, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, controls, infrastructure and terminology.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $141,830 - $263,408 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
