GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the close supervision of an employee of a higher classification, performs manual work in the custodial care of public buildings and related facilities. Work involves varied cleaning tasks following established routines in an assigned building or building area. Primary responsibility is for cleaning and otherwise caring for buildings and equipment. Employees may be required to work unusual working hours and in more than one location. Work is reviewed through observation on the job. Performs other work as requested. Note: Some employees within this classification are hired on a part-time basis and paid at an hourly rate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to read and write, and experience in custodial work involving the use of commercial cleaning materials and equipment.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) None.
