Assist and help maintain the City of Edmonton, one tree at a time! 

This position will have you operating aerial bucket trucks for pruning and maintaining trees as a Developmental Arborist and assisting Certified Arborists in daily operations. Join the Forestry Operations Team as a Seasonal Developmental Arborist!

What will you do?

• Assist Arborist in day-to-day tree care-related tasks
• Operate equipment related to urban tree care
• Prune trees to develop and maintain tree health
• Tree Removals, including hazard tree removals
• Various tree maintenance, as required (eg. sucker removal, bolting/cabling)
• Respond to emergency storm-related work
• Operate and perform minor maintenance on equipment which may include: chainsaws, brush blades, and various pruning tools
• Provide traffic control and direction including greeting the public and providing prompt and courteous service
• Respond to tree complaints related to the Urban Forest Conduct job duties in a safe manner in compliance with City and Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Legislation regulations, codes, policies, and competency training
• Update inventory on COE software
• Complete task cards, work records and interpret work assignments
• Other related duties as required
