Description

Join the team at the train station of one of the largest living history museums in Canada! As a Train Conductor, you will use your passion for customer service to deliver an outstanding first impression for our guests as they begin their journey through history. You will be an integral part of the crew on the Heritage Steam Train, ensuring every passenger has a safe and memorable experience. 

In this role, you will oversee the boarding, traveling, and disembarking of hundreds of passengers each day. Working under the guidance of the Head Conductor and reporting to the Chief Train Operator, you will facilitate the smooth operation of the train in accordance with historical and safety guidelines. You will act as a park ambassador, providing visitors with an inviting orientation to the various attractions, activities, and events available. Beyond operations, you will engage passengers with stories about the history of trains and their vital role in the development of Edmonton. Your commitment to safety is paramount, as you will follow specific transportation guidelines and procedures to protect all visitors. Ultimately, you help bring history to life while maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for everyone on board.

What will you do?

  • Oversee the safe boarding and disembarking of passengers, including specific procedures for passengers using wheelchairs
  • Provide excellent customer service and engage passengers with the history of the railway
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the train coaches
  • Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions to the Chief or Shift Engineer
  • Follow all Alberta Transportation guidelines and Heritage Steam Train General Operating Instructions
  • Assist with day-to-day routine department decision-making and escalate customer concerns when appropriate
  • Support an inclusive and safe workplace culture and assist with organizational diversity initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
