Description

The Construction Manager must have experience with real estate development processes and hands-on expertise in overseeing vertical construction projects within a vertically integrated residential growth model. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of construction management, guiding projects from initial concept through construction, and final occupancy.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vertical construction activities for residential developments, ensuring all phases—from footers, home delivery and set, to utility connections—are executed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with real estate teams on project feasibility, site acquisition, and entitlement processes.
  • Review and interpret contracts, construction documents, and design plans to ensure scope alignment.
  • Guide projects from conceptual design to construction-ready documentation, leading execution through final delivery.
  • Lead and monitor on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation protocols, including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and compliance reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with departments responsible for the construction, sales, and insurance of affordable housing units.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to strategic planning efforts for more efficient project delivery.

Compensation:

As a Construction Manager with Clayton Homes, you will be receiving a salary wage ranging from $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 depending on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Ability to translate big-picture strategy into tactical actions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (scorecards, dashboards, analytics, and BuilderTrend).
  • Experience with manufactured housing preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in a competitive industry.
  • Ability to manage through relationships and influence.
