Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Per Diem

Hours: This Per Diem role will work as needed, day time to evening hours including some weekends.

As a per diem, non-exempt Clinical Staff Pharmacist with CPS TELEpharmacy, you are responsible for overseeing clinical activities and delivery of telepharmacy services. In this role, you will communicate with patients and providers throughout the country while completing admission medication reconciliation, discharge medication reconciliation, counseling, comprehensive medication management, medication therapy management, and remote order entry and verification. You may also be assigned additional pharmacy projects by management.

Setting: CPS TELEpharmacy is a division of Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS), that provides remote pharmacy services to multiple hospitals and skilled nursing facilities across the U.S from a centralized location in Naperville, IL.  This position entails a high degree of telephone customer service, and accuracy working on quad screens in a cubicle, call center environment, from a high-security, modern office building with many amenities including a cafeteria, relaxation area, complimentary beverages and free membership to a local fitness center.  

Salary Range: $50-$56/hr depending on experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
  • Current Illinois Pharmacist license in good standing 
  • Successful completion of Board Certification or Pharmacy Practice Residency program strongly preferred
  • Experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

  • Independence with regards to clinical discussions and evaluations
  • Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licenses as requested by management
  • Ability to use pharmaceutical and medical references literature to provide drug information to health plans, patients, and prescribers
  • Ability to speak professionally via phone or video with providers and patients
  • Ability to precept students independently
  • Ability to present to medical staff
  • Fluency to speak a second language preferred
  • Management skills preferred
