POSITION SUMMARY

 

Tailored specifically for recent RN graduates or those with less than one year of post-graduation experience, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center's program transforms your early nursing career into an extraordinary adventure. Our program offers a structured and supportive environment to facilitate the transition from academia to professional clinical practice. Over the first 12-18 months as an RN, you'll collaborate with seasoned healthcare professionals, undergo comprehensive training, and cultivate the skills essential for success in your nursing career.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) within the past year.

 

License and Certifications:

Current Minnesota RN License. American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association ACLS certificate required within 4 months of hire.

 

RN ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Exercises concern for the patient's welfare, maintains knowledge of the patient's condition, administers medication and performs treatment while practicing and maintaining high ethical standards.

  2. Responsible for the direct and indirect care of residents/patients assigned to her/him under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer and/or the Nurse Manager.

  3. Maintains accurate and complete records of nursing assessments and care and counsels the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs.

  4. Remains up-to-date on new nursing skills and technology utilizing the nursing process (observation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of care.

  5. Performs duties in accordance with physician's orders, the Medical Center's policies, methods, and techniques, and in coordinating with other departments and Medical Center personnel.

  6. Provides leadership and promotes teamwork.

  7. Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.

  8. Participates in New Grad RN Pathway components including:

  • Structured learning curriculum merging in-person, online, and simulation experiences.

  • Clinical preceptorship.

  • Mentorship program - paired with an experienced RN for continuous support throughout the first year.

  • Unit-specific orientation pathways customized for graduate nurses. This clinical orientation promotes progressive development in time management, clinical skills, shift organization, and independence.

  • In-service programs, education programs, and orientation.
