As a Consultant Pharmacist, you have the exciting opportunity to collaborate with facility leaders and staff to coordinate pharmaceutical services within long term care facilities. You will have the opportunity to guide development and evaluation of pharmaceutical services procedures within the facility. You will assist the facility to identify, evaluate, and address/resolve pharmacy-related concerns and issues that affect resident care, medical care, quality of life, and/or regulatory compliance. This position will perform duties below by working on-site at a specialty hospital. You will be: 1. Ordering all controlled substances from the Contract Pharmacy in quantities sufficient to meet the needs of Ridge BHS and maintain proper records. 2. Monthly medication storage area inspections. 3. Provider of drug information to medical staff and nurses, including periodic in-services on new drugs. 4. Conduct Medication Usage Evaluation (MUE), using selected criteria approved by the Medical Executive Committee. 5. Be a liaison between Ridge Behavioral Health System and the Contract Pharmacy. 6. Provide new employee orientation and staff in-services. 7. Provide medication group material for patients on Adult Psych and Adult Chemical Dependency Units; lead groups as needed. 8. Monitoring of non-Formulary drug compliance – provides Administration with monthly reports. 9. Receive pharmacy delivery and distribute to medication rooms and after hour stock room. 10. The preparation of periodic reports for Quality Improvement Board, MEC, and Board of Trustees. 11. Plan and lead the Pharmacy – Therapeutics Committee quarterly meeting and keep minutes for meeting. 12. In addition, the In-House Pharmacist may serve as the Pharmacy Advisor to the Medical Executive Committee. This is a part-time position. *Required Qualifications* Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Kentucky, license must be active and in good standing Ability to visit behavioral health hospital in Lexington, Kentucky Immunization certified or willingness to become immunization certified. Notwithstanding the language in the below COVID Requirements section that references exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons, successful candidates for this position *must be* *fully vaccinated* against COVID-19 prior to their start date. Certain health care facilities and other clientele will not allow unvaccinated colleagues to enter their premises, even with a reasonable accommodation that involves COVID-19 testing.  Since some of the essential functions of this position must be performed within our clients' facilities, no exemptions from the vaccination requirement will be allowed for this position. This is a part time position working 24 hours a week.
