We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable. *Position Summary* As the Executive Director of Cloud Engineering and Automation at CVS Health, you will play a pivotal role in driving technology innovation, digital transformation, and product excellence. You will provide strategic leadership to the cloud engineering and automation teams, ensuring the successful delivery of innovative cloud-based solutions in alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, along with proven experience in cloud engineering, software development, infrastructure automation, and transformational leadership. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership and Strategy: * Develop and communicate the cloud engineering and automation vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the overall business goals. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a strong culture of innovation, agility, and collaboration. * Provide thought leadership on emerging cloud technologies, best practices, and industry trends, ensuring CVS Health remains at the forefront of cloud innovation. 2. Cloud Engineering Management: * Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable and high-performing cloud-based solutions across multiple platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.). * Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive cloud solutions across public platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring optimal performance, scalability, resiliency and security. * Develop and oversee the implementation of cloud governance frameworks to ensure compliance with security regulations, data protection, and business continuity plans. * Optimize cloud costs through effective resource management and adherence to cost-effective practices. * Manage the analysis, evaluation, and adoption of emerging cloud technologies and tools, positioning the organization at the forefront of cloud innovations. 3. Automation Management: * Lead the cloud automation strategy and implementation, driving the development and execution of cloud infrastructure slef-service strategies. * Develop robust CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and production deployments, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability. * Drive the adoption of cloud automation technologies, streamlining cloud provisioning and management processes to support rapid and safe changes. * Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, identify market opportunities, and prioritize product features and enhancements. * Define and track key metrics, goals, and success criteria for product performance. * Foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and technology partners. 4. Team Leadership and Development: * Build and lead a high-performing cloud engineering and automation team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and accountability. * Mentor and motivate team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities. * Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and innovation across the organization. 5. Relationship Management: * Maintain regular communication and foster strong relationships with peers, senior leadership and vendor partners. * Conduct vendor performance reviews, assess adherence to SLAs, and address any issues or concerns proactively. * Collaborate with vendors to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost optimization, and innovation. * Stay informed about cloud industry trends and new product offerings and assess their potential impact on CVS Health's cloud strategy. *Required Qualifications* * Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum of 10 years' experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing cloud engineering/automation teams in large scale environments. * Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.), preferably in a healthcare or highly regulated industry. Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus. * Deep knowledge of virtualization and container platforms. * Proven track record in designing and implementing automation solutions in cloud environments, including expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). * Deep knowledge of CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI) and best practices for automated testing and production deployments. * Extensive experience in driving innovation and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. * Strong business acumen, with the ability to align technology strategies with organizational goals. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive team performance and foster innovation in a high-paced environment. * Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage complex projects across multiple teams and stakeholders. * Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. *Education* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. *Pay Range* The typical pay range for this role is: $175,100.00 - $334,800.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.    In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
