This is a full-time temporary support staff position within the Financial Aid Office. The primary responsibilities are processing enrollment verifications for students receiving Michigan State Scholarships, including but not limited to the Michigan Reconnect and Community College Guarantee programs. This role involves detailed enrollment verification, compliance with federal and state regulations, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial aid adjustments. In addition, providing customer service at the front counter, phones, emails, performing data entry, and managing rosters for State of Michigan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Manage processing for Michigan Reconnect and Community College Guarantee scholarships to include enrollment verifications for students adjusting their academic plans.
  • Process loans and any incoming documentation received from students and input into the Colleague system, including entering completed student loans on a student's award package.
  • Communicate with students and academic advisors to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with scholarship requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
  • Ensure all processing activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and reviews by internal and external agencies.
  • Generate reports to track scholarship disbursements, adjustments, and compliance status.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Aid team to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Financial Aid Office and other departments, including Admissions and Registrar's Office, to ensure coordinated efforts in student support.
  • Provide high-quality customer service, ensuring students understand their financial aid packages and requirements.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with changes in financial aid regulations and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid to support the mission and goals of the Financial Aid Office.

  • Associates Degree
  • 1 – 3 years of position related experience
  • Exemplary customer service skills, ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data entry
