Description
1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
RN Circulator. General surgery, OB-GYN surgery, limited orthopedic and vascular procedures
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Sanford One Chart documentation; Pyxis Medication system
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Experienced circulating RN
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
ACLS
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Call for circulating RN's is 24hours, from 6am-6am. The employee would be the only RN at times, but the CRNA and surg techs are always present. The position requires every 3rd weekend and 3 days of call per week.
6. Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
The RN circulator functions as the PAR nurse after 6pm and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
One operating room
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

9. Dress Code:
Uniforms are provided by the facility. Shoes dedicated to the OR are required.
10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Orientation in this department is not time specific, new employees are trained until their objectives have been met and they are comfortable being on their own for call.
