**Responsibilities Job Description**

The Clinical Informaticist - Learning and Support Specialist - RN (LSS) combines their nursing experience and knowledge with the use of health care technology in clinical care and health care operations to design, teach (delivers content to users), produce (the act of being a broadcast/webcast producer) clinical technology mission-critical learning content across multiple formats including (but not limited to) virtual, automated, in person, and additional supportive technologies. This role also provides go live support for staff as new clinical technologies are implemented.

This position provides clinically focused oversight of highly visible, sensitive & multi-faceted technology projects. They focus on standardizing technologies appropriately for clinical processes/workflows across a broad array of audiences, locations, service lines, domains, and care settings of current and new clinical technology projects including (but not limited to) the implementation of cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, capnography, nurse call systems and vital sign machines.

This role creates clinically focused technology training plans and learning tools to support adoption in practice, improve efficiency, and increase user competency using standard best practices and clinical workflows. They deliver course content using professional presentation skills and interactive techniques appropriate to adult learners and the mode of learning. They provide onsite support to staff during implementation and post-go live and ensure customer-service excellence in all interactions.

This role collaborates on all phases of clinical technology initiatives including analysis, design, development, change management, communication, implementation, & evaluation.

**Job Expectations:**

Creates, teaches, and facilitates delivery of clinical technology training content that engages learners and aligns with identified outcomes and adult learning principles.

Develops learning using programs like Snag-it, Camtasia, Ancile uPerform, Elsevier LMS, and Microsoft Office 365 while integrating deliverables such as technical product videos and online learning modules into learning management systems across multiple delivery platforms.

Creates and manages staff education/training plans, their completion, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance. Ensures education is embedded in new employee orientation, unit orientation and as needed for contracted/traveler staff and students.

Provides onsite go live support for clinical technology implementations.

Provides just-in-time clinical technology training as needed post go live. Serves as a subject matter expert on various types of clinical technology.

Completes 30-60-90-day post go live rounding to assess staff utilization and adoption of clinical technology.

Provides status updates and pertinent information to clinical technology team; follows established escalation procedures.

Collaborates with IT, Nursing, Clinical Staff, Operations and Biomed to complete assessments on current and future technology needs, clinical workflows, and project implementation.

Evaluates clinical technology RCAs, acquires, and analyzes data, and escalates trends as appropriate.

Aligns current and future clinical technology with organization's policies and collaborates with SME's during project development to assess impact on policies.

Ability to travel to/from M Health Fairview locations for site visits, rounding, and other activities related to the role. Responsible for working off-shift hours and on-call shifts as scheduled.

**Qualifications**

**Required**

**Education**

Bachelors' degree in nursing

**Experience**

3-5 years clinical practice experience.

Recent technology implementation experience.

At least 3 years of experience creating training materials and working with programs like Microsoft Office 365 and online learning management systems.

3+ years of experience with teaching curriculum.

Understanding of clinical care workflows, and healthcare operations.

Advanced communication skills both verbal and written.

Demonstrates ability to deal with ambiguity - strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Experience in supporting/creating training plans and managing training schedules.

Access to reliable transportation to travel to and between various M Health sites.

Ability to work scheduled on call rotations and off shifts as needed.

**License/Certification/Registration**

Current Minnesota RN license or ability to obtain prior to hire

**Preferred**

**Education**

Masters' degree in nursing

**Experience**

3-5 years' experience creating training curriculum and working with programs such as Snag-it, Camtasia and uPerform

Experience in leading multiple technology-related or clinical implementations concurrently

3 years of experience creating training materials, teaching nursing curriculum and working with programs like Microsoft Office 365 and online learning management systems.

Ability to formally present project related information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner

**License/Certification/Registration**

Industry-level certifications such as AACN, HIMSS, Lean, Master Instructional Designer, Master Trainer, Virtual Training Design, Virtual Training Certificate, etc.
