POSITION SUMMARY
(**NOTE: This is not a medical billing position.)
This position will be responsible for processing resident billing for Discovery Senior Living managed communities. Responsible for generating resident billing in a timely and accurate manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Assists with preparation and monitors all monthly billing and collection processes utilizing established policies, procedures and tracking systems.
- Enters resident account and billing data received from community in Vitals system.
- Responsible for processing monthly resident account charges for move-ins, move- outs, transfer and ancillary billing.
- Ensures any resident rent incentives are applied and charged according to agreements.
- Verifies resident account balances are accurate and that charges and statements are prepared and submitted accurately and timely.
- Completes all month-end procedures prior to accounting closing deadlines.
- Communicates and works in cooperation with Business Office Managers and Executive Directors.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Educational Requirements and Experience:
- Associate's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred but not required.
- Three years or more of previous billing experience.
- Previous data entry experience using 10k.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to read and write using English language.
- Must demonstrate excellent telephone communication skills.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
