As Community Director, you'll play an essential leadership role in creating an exceptional community experience for residents and team members while driving operational, financial, and service excellence.
Your Role:
As the Community Director, you will provide overall leadership and management of the community, setting the tone for residents and team members while maintaining standards of excellence, occupancy goals, and financial performance. You'll oversee all community departments and lead a resident-focused culture built around exceptional service, engagement, and operational success.
Position Highlights:
- Status: FULL TIME
- Schedule: Traditional leadership workweek with flexibility required based on business and operational needs that includes Manager on Duty hours as well as on call for emergency situations
- Location: Gainesville, FL
- Rate of Pay: $80k + 20% Annual Performance Bonus Target
What You'll Do:
- Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the community and all departments.
- Create and champion a clear, resident-focused vision aligned with the purpose and mission of the community.
- Lead, coach, develop, and hold team members accountable while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Drive occupancy and revenue growth through effective sales, marketing, referral, and business development strategies.
- Build strong relationships within the local community and maintain awareness of market and competitive trends.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the community and build trusted relationships with residents and team members.
- Lead resident engagement efforts, address concerns, and continually identify opportunities to enhance the resident experience.
- Oversee community financial performance, including the P&L, operating budget, labor, expenses, revenue, and occupancy expectations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable housing regulations, OSHA requirements, safety standards, risk management policies, and community procedures.
- Recruit, select, train, coach, and evaluate team members while ensuring appropriate staffing and labor management.
- Partner with Regional Operations and other support teams to achieve community goals and maintain standards of excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of managerial experience preferred, preferably within luxury multifamily, Active Adult 55+, or hospitality environments.
- Previous management experience preferred that includes hiring, coaching, performance management, daily operations, and budget oversight.
- Previous sales experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing operating expenses and financial performance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable.
- Familiarity with department operations within a multi-housing community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong resident/client service orientation and an interest in working with an Active 55+ population.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, email, and internet-based tools.
