General Summary: 

Seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Manager to lead and optimize the marketing strategy for Dollar General's loyalty program, myDG. This role involves developing and executing marketing initiatives to drive customer engagement, acquisition, and retention. The Marketing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including digital products, media and creative agencies, and data science partners, to ensure the successful rollout and growth of the myDG platform and its new subscription program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance-based marketing, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize the marketing strategy (paid and owned) for Dollar General's loyalty program (myDG) to increase account creations and platform adoption, fostering more digitally engaged customers. Work with media and creative agencies to market myDG programs for digital acquisition and retention of loyalty program members. Build out calendars, process, workflows for the program across all channels. Partner with CRM team to develop personalized content and messaging based on customer strategy and journeys. Own weekly reporting in partnership with data science teams to measure and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with the digital products team to align marketing support with myDG platform enhancements and retention of loyalty program members.
  • Develop, lead and execute the go-to-market strategy for the new myDG subscription program. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective program rollout, drive customer acquisition of subscription program, and maximize adoption and growth. Partner with data science teams to measure and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner with partnership marketing to design and implement a strategic roadmap identifying high-value partnerships across multiple verticals, driving incremental member value and program differentiation. Assist with creation of initial partner facing presentations as well as partnering with legal in routing partnership agreements for review and execution. Integrate partner offerings into the subscription platform, ensuring an optimal customer experience. Cultivate and sustain long-term partnerships to drive continuous program growth and align with Dollar General's goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Performance-based marketing experience leading campaign strategy and digital media.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building, launching, and scaling programs from concept to full market expansion, driving meaningful business impact.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while delivering results.
Qualifications:

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • Bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a related field of study required.
  • 5 years of experience in loyalty/subscription/personalization.
  • Experience managing people and/or cross functional teams.
  • Experience in a retail industry preferred.
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
