Company Overview:
The Platform Engineer Sr (Microsoft and Cloud) must have advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance as well as understand how decisions in each area affect an overall solution. In addition, they should have experience in Azure administration, Azure Security, and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
This role will continue to engineer, install, configure, and repair on premise operating system software and related software products. Plans and coordinates or executes all activities related to systems access, security, availability and capacity across multiple platforms.

Cloud & Infrastructure Solutions:
- Interacts with business stakeholders, application owners, vendors, and industry experts to align business requirements into technology solutions that optimally balance cost, speed of implementation, and value while leveraging cloud and hybrid technologies and standards whenever possible.
- Delivers solutions to customers including cloud migration, server consolidation, implementation, and application integration with emphasis on architectural services.
- Conducts root cause analysis, assess requirements, and provide strategies and preventive measures.
- Ensures the integrity and availability of all networking and systems infrastructure, key processes, review reports, responds to issues, and implements resolutions to avoid or reduce unplanned incidents or outage.
- Produces solution documentation, operating procedures, training materials, checklists, and standard documents to ensure a high quality of service delivery.
- Provides escalation support per request from other support teams and training as needed.
- Partner with developers, infrastructure teams, and other roles responsible for implementing solutions on Azure, ON premises hybrid cloud, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Produces technical target architectures that are modifiable, dependable, and scalable.
- Defines system and hardware requirements, identifies resources and estimates timelines for project completion.
- Leads and coaches team members in adopting new cloud skills and technologies through discussion, partnering, and promoting a positive work environment.
- Configures, deploys, and manages policy objects, roles, and management groups to govern and secure the Azure, Microsoft 365, and on-premises environments.
- Adheres to change management processes, and proactively assesses, and executes changes to technology infrastructures that enhance overall system functionality, stability, and performance.
Server & Infrastructure Optimization:
- Designs, defines, implements, and supports standards for production and development operating systems and servers.
- Produces and maintains documentation of processes/procedures and standards for effective operating system and server administration to be used by operations teams.
- Provides Installation and configuration as well as oversight of production, testing, and development operating systems and servers. This includes solution upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, and monitoring configuration and installation.
- Repairs and retrofits solution integrations, storage configurations, and network connectivity issues with hyperconverged infrastructure and Windows server systems.
- Tunes operating system and server performance.
- Expert in reducing manual maintenance work in favor of automation. Engineers and develops automations for infrastructure deployments both on premise and cloud.
- Supports capacity planning, performance, and placement efforts.
- Contributes to the planning, testing, maintenance of the Information Technology department's disaster-recovery plans.
- Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, and work flexible schedules, holidays, and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
• Advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance.
• Experience with the planning, configuration, optimization, and deployment of Microsoft on premise and Azure solutions (VMs, Active Directory, Azure AD, Automation, Monitor, Backup/recovery etc.).
• Must be well versed in general infrastructure technology and understand public and private cloud concepts such as Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Desktop as a Service (DaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, PowerShell scripting and Azure CLI.
• Able to direct, track and supervise others' work on multiple projects.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work Experience &/or Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or related major or equivalent years of work experience.
- 5+ years of senior level experience in multiple information technology disciplines such as Client/Server technology, cloud-based IT services, data security and operating systems.
- 1+ years of Microsoft Azure cloud support experience in a production environment including security, automation, Azure subscriptions and resources, implement and manage storage, deploy, and manage virtual machines, configure, and manage virtual networks, and manage identities.
- 2+ years of Microsoft 365 cloud platform support experience in a production environment including security, automation, license management, device management, and feature rollouts.
- 1+ years of experience with customers providing technical solutions.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate. (Preferred)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Associate. (Preferred)
