Description

The Sales Associate acts as a point of contact for our customers. Sales Associates assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, recover merchandise, clean the store, and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager, or Manager on Duty, to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting Company assets.


Job Responsibility
• Provides excellent customer service, greets and assists customers.
• Operates cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collects payment from customers and makes change, bags merchandise, and assists customers with merchandise as necessary.
• Follows Company merchandise processes; unpacks, stocks, restocks, and rotates merchandise on shelves and builds merchandise displays.
• Cleans the store, takes out trash, dust and mops store floors, cleans restroom and receiving room, and helps set up sidewalk displays.

Working Conditions
• Frequent walking and standing.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise and unload trucks, which may also require the ability to push rolltainers for stocking merchandise.
• Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers.
• Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing (using step ladder) up to heights of six feet.
• Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level.
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous cleaning solutions.
• Occasional exposure to slippery floor surfaces.
• May be exposed to extreme cold in freezers.

Job Qualifications
• Proficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.
• Knowledge of and willingness to comply with Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and Company communications.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
