Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Area Manager will assist with the development of the program budgets and manage programs within budget ensuring that staff are deployed appropriately, and that staffing ratios comply with service plan to meet or exceed contractual performance goals within the guidelines of the operating budget and program deliverables.
  • Interpret federal legislation, state guidance, and communiqués including assistance with negotiating contracts for appropriate implementation to ensure quality services.
  • Establish policies and procedures for program services, safety and crisis response management.
  • Supervise management and front-line staff to build community partnerships and establish links with other community service-related agencies to assist where necessary to fulfill delivery of contract compliance. 
  • Experience in program operations and business development to conduct business development activities and assist in responding to RFP's, grant opportunities, to grow business in the Region.

 

Qualifications

  • Related Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University (social services, counseling, business) required.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience. Experience working with the targeted population. 
  • Experience with at-risk youth, adults, and/or dislocated workers, particularly in workforce, employment and training.   
  • Ability to maintain a leadership role with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Must have an appropriate and valid state driver's license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Regional travel approximately 50% of the time.

About Our Workforce Programs:

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers.  Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.  We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements. We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
