Service Contract Act (SCA) Position
Hourly Rate: $24.00
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The HVAC Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is an hourly, non-exempt position.
- The HVAC Technician responsible for maintaining heating and cooling units throughout the center.
- Completes preventative and minor maintenance on all HVAC units.
- The HVAC Technician may transport students by van or automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
- Ensures that all tools and equipment are in good repair and kept in appropriate storage sheds and closets.
- Adheres to all PRH, PAG, CDSS and policies and procedures, and the Center's Operating Procedures.
- Ensures all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, and DOL standards.
- Maintains a work environment of zero accidents and injuries including no loss-time accidents.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, and one years' related work experience.
- Technician experience preferred.
- Able to complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Additional Requirements: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate maintenance techniques. State commercial driver's license preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and relate to the trainee population. Position requires an ability to operate household appliances. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
