Job Summary:
Under the direction of a clinical practice coordinator and/or EHPN office manager, clinical office assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks. Typical administrative duties of a clinical office assistant include answering phones, greeting patients, updating patient medical records, completing/processing insurance forms, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admissions or lab work, billing, and bookkeeping. Light clinical duties include, but are not limited to, preparing exam/treatment rooms and patients for exams, taking vital signs, performing simple lab tests, and explaining instructions to patients as directed by the physician.

Schedule as follows:

Monday 8:45 a.m. - 6 p.m.     

Tues. 1:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.     

Wed. 1:30 - 7:30 p.m.                 

Thurs. 12:15 p.m. - 6 p.m.         

Friday 8:45 am - 3:45 p.m.       

Saturday 8:45 am - 2:45 p.m.

Job Essentials:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES:

1. Performs selected clinical office and administrative duties.

2. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.

3. Complies with all Infection prevention requirements/policies

4. Takes patient histories and vital signs.

5. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.

6. Phlebotomy as ordered by physician.

7. Schedules patients for visits, consults, follow ups, referrals and radiology as requested.

8. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.

9. Assists the physician in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals.

10. Retrieves messages from EHR/voicemail system.

11. Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures.

12. Maintains patient files, records and other information.

13. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.

14. Maintains strictest patient confidentiality and adheres to Service Excellence standards.

15. Performs related work as assigned.

 

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
