Description

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. The partnership owns and operates an integrated network of assets, including pipelines, processing plants, fractionation facilities, storage, and terminals across the United States.

The Maintenance Management Systems Director (MX) provides enterprise leadership for defining, governing, and scaling Enterprise Products' Maintenance Excellence (MX) operating model. This role leads a centralized MX organization that enables regional sites to execute maintenance more efficiently, predictably, and reliably through standard work processes, governance, analytics, and disciplined performance management.

This position does not perform or directly manage day-to-day maintenance execution. Instead, the Director ensures the systems, standards, metrics, and coaching structures are in place so regional organizations can execute maintenance consistently at scale. The role is accountable for sustaining maintenance process maturity and measurable performance improvement across the enterprise.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Define and own the Maintenance Excellence (MX) work process, including work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, close-out, and analysis standards.
  • Establish and maintain MX governance, including process documentation, guidelines, and performance expectations, while preserving regional accountability for execution.
  • Govern break-in control, prioritization rules, and the maintenance operating cadence.
  • Define, standardize, and manage the MX KPI framework as an enterprise control tower, ensuring metrics are actionable, behavior-based, and tied to corrective action.
  • Lead enterprise performance reviews and translate KPI insights into sustained corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop the centralized MX organization, ensuring resources are focused on coaching, enablement, and capability building.
  • Act as the business owner for MX-related EAM and analytics requirements, ensuring Oracle EAM is used as the system of record and that data supports transparency and decision-making.
  • Own and evolve the enterprise Maintenance Excellence strategy and roadmap, aligned with long-term Maintenance & Reliability objectives
  • Key Interfaces:
    • Operations & Maintenance Leadership
    • Reliability Programs & Engineering Teams
    • IT Support and Data Science/Engineering
    • Regional and Executive Leadership (Director, VP, SVP level)
  • Success Measures
    • Sustained improvement in schedule adherence, PM compliance, backlog health, and work stability
    • Reduction in break-in and reactive maintenance work
    • Improved accuracy, completeness, and usability of maintenance cost and failure data
    • Consistent KPI usage driving corrective action and measurable performance improvement
    • Adoption of MX processes as standard business practice
  • Scope and Boundaries
    • Provides enterprise leadership for Maintenance Excellence governance, standards, KPIs and capability building
    • Enables and supports regional execution but does not manage site maintenance teams or direct craft labor
    • Represents a sustained enterprise function, not a temporary transformation program
